Is it possible to embed a JVM in a desktop application?

I don't want to force users to install Java to run a large desktop application. Therefore, I'm wondering if it is possible to distribute the JVM along with the program (does the Oracle license allow this)?

It is possible to add a JRE installation step to the installer. The license does not restrict this.
