There is a need to either not show the player control buttons or make them inactive. And ideally, add a picture as a background.

Moreover, the appearance of this player for different browsers is different and changes in different ways (for the same site).

Customize at what level? This player is just a notification service. Accordingly, its appearance is completely dependent on the browser developer. That is why it looks different in different browsers. And you can customize it only for a specific application. If this is your application (you have the source code), then everything is simple, if not yours, then most likely nothing will come of it.
