Is it possible to copy files from one ubuntu to another ubuntu on the same machine?

One computer has 2 ubuntu 12.10. One of them stopped loading, but valuable files remained on it. Is it possible to somehow find the necessary files through the working OS and copy them?
Recovery issues initramfs, exit does not help.
