Is it possible to connect two devices via optics?

There is a D-Link DMC-F20SC-BXU Media Converter that transmits LAN to a neighboring building via optics, can it somehow be connected to the D-Link EasySmart Switch DES-1100-26 via optics? Preferably with links to gadgets
