Is it possible to connect to LAN in read-only?

The task is to catch traffic between the router and the provider's switch. The router is on vendor firmware, wireshark cannot be installed on it. There is an option - plug a router and an Internet cable into a passive switch, plug a computer there and run wireshark on it in promiscuous mode, but then the computer will shove its packets there. Is it possible to somehow prevent the computer from sending any packets to the switch, but allow it to read? So that in the column "packets sent" was 0 (for the purity of the experiment).

The easiest way is to cut the Tx pair. The condition "in the column "packets sent" was 0" will not be fulfilled, of course, but no one will see the computer.

If windows, then uncheck all the checkboxes in the interface properties.
For Linux
(interface must be in bridge)
