Is it possible to change the image by editing the EDID in an HDMI capture card?
There is a PCI-e HDMI capture card. Images in all modes supported by the card are shifted 4px to the left, not much, in general, it does not interfere, but I would like to find out: is it possible to align the image by editing the EDID, or is it related to something else (a feature of the receiver, for example)?
Previously, I didn’t have to work with EDID, after a cursory reading of the materials found, I noticed the parameter “H. Front Porch” and, accordingly, “V. Front Porch”, according to the information that flashed during the search, they are once again responsible for the horizontal and vertical position, but in practice, changing them does not affect the image in any way. Raspberry Pi is connected to the card, EDID is read from a file (not from the EEPROM card, EDID dump was taken via tvservice), checked by changing the "interlaced" mode to "progressive" - it works, i.e. "preferred timing mode" is read from the file as expected . I did not find good documentation on EDID, maybe someone knows: where is it? Should the image actually be shifted by the "H\V Front Porch" parameters (if you edit the dump with the "Deltacast E-EDID" program, in other programs and various calculators, this parameter may be called differently). And one more thing: the EDID version is 1.3, i.e. there is an "Extension Block" and, for some reason, other timings are indicated in it (in particular, "H. Blank" and "H. Front Porch"), is this normal?
I am attaching the EDID dump of the card, maybe someone will figure it out - https://yadi.sk/d/lcKn9p2piRC2D
