Is it possible to calibrate the touchscreen on android?

Description of the problem: the touchscreen is NOT smaller than the screen and is set correctly, but the more to the right you touch the screen, the more miss. Left is fine. The edges of the touchscreen work, but the response to touch on the right border is shifted by almost half a centimeter to the center. It looks something like this:

I calibrated my HTC like this
1) getting root rights
2) creating a gold SD
3) uploading the calibration file to the USB flash drive and calibrating it.
