Is it possible to boot Windows 10 through NativeBoot by running a simple script before that?

There was such a task: there are many computers with Windows 10 on which there are identical images of the system. Sometimes these images need to be changed/reinstalled/supplemented. Windows 10 supports such a thing as NativeBoot - when the system actually boots from a vhd file on the system drive.

But I would like to expand this process a little so that before loading the OC itself, a small script is executed that would check the version of the vhd file and, if necessary, download a new one from the server (the protocol is unimportant), after which it actually loaded the OS. bcd itself does not support such functionality, grub and syslinux, as I understand it, do not.

Can anyone advise anything on this topic, at least the direction in which to dig?
It is important that the system should run natively, without virtualization.
