Is it possible to attach a phone charger to the joystick instead of two batteries?

All the batteries from the joystick with the XBOX 360 are dead. The joystick runs on two simple 1.5 V AA batteries. Under the back cover of the joystick is written - "5V, 450mA". Is it possible to connect charging from the phone instead of batteries, or at worst take power from usb? I looked on the Internet about usb 2.0 - there is also 5V and up to 500mA.

"5V, 450mA" are the charging parameters that are plugged in if batteries are not used. and the battery. Without a battery, even with the charger connected, the joystick most likely will not start.
Applying 5V instead of battery voltage (3V), I think, is not worth it. If you really want to convert the joystick to a wired one, look for a 3V power supply.
In general, AA nickel-metal hydride batteries cost a penny. Take two sets and charge one by one.

2 batteries is 3 volts ...
You can burn .... at least a resistor!
So google how much you need a resistor to lower the battery voltage to ~ 3 volts and connect it calmly!

Ocelot suggested the ideal option , but if you want perversions, you can buy a DC-DC buck converter like this and connect it through it, then there will be at least charging at the input, at least something else, the output will be only 3 volts
