Is it possible to apply for an IT master's program without a background?
Good afternoon, forum members! The question itself is in the title) A little about me: at the moment I'm a bachelor's student at the Faculty of Architecture, I realized that this is not mine, I want to change my specialty to the IT field. Before the release of 1.5 years. In general, in the future I would like to create applications for phones for iOS and Android. But at the moment I do not know programming languages, nothing at all about programming. I own graphic programs (Corel, Photoshop, Illustrator), but that's another story... Guys, how can you enter IT without an appropriate portfolio, without preparation, is this possible? You need to do it yourself, are there programs that train people from scratch? I am well versed in the architectural issue, we have master's programs that will make you an architect in 3 years))) By the way, I am considering studying mainly in Asia,

Well, as far as I know, from a formal point of view, you can enter a master's program by passing the entrance exams.
Another thing - the purpose of this all?
One of your strategies would be, for example, the following:
1. Finish the architecture. Graduate.
2. Work with architecture. Start looking at IT from an architectural point of view. You know, when you start looking at IT, looking at another subject, a lot of things seem different.
3. There is a chance that you will find something that people simply miss. And then instead of the mainstream, you will end up in specialized IT. For example, (hypothetically I invent), the calculation of urban studies according to models based on urban plans. Those. you combine an architect and an IT specialist and immediately overcome a significant gap. You will have access to what is not available to an ordinary IT specialist without your background.
4. Thus. you will immediately be on the cutting edge.
...
5. PROFIT!
Your problem is this: you are looking into the mainstream of IT (Android, Ios, etc.) - i.e. back. Why do you, the owner of knowledge in architecture, dilute the army of ordinary IT people when you have such a background?
With it, you can immediately step into the elite of interdisciplinary projects.
Smart cities, related bigdata, building management, urbanism, etc. I'm not an expert on this, so I'm just guessing.
Do not look at the mainstream - look wider !
PS I believe that you know English. Therefore, in addition to Chinese, I advise you to focus on the following languages: de (technology), es (significant markets).
Didn't find what you were looking for?
