Is it possible to adequately configure bash ubuntu that is built into windows 10 to work?
Hello. Friday adventure begins.
The crux of the matter is that microsoft has provided Ubuntu as a Windows subsystem .
However, it does not have a graphical shell. I tried installing GNOME but it didn't work.
Is there anyone who knows how to install and run a graphical shell on Ubuntu 16.04?
(not a couple of programs, but the entire "desktop", although I'll be happy with anything)
That's where I stopped.
In Google, everyone is advised to configure Ubuntu Server via ssh clients. But I don't have an ssh client :)
I have no idea how exactly Ubuntu works under Windows. In fact, I just open the Ubuntu terminal and that's it. Inside Windows there is a Linux (?) file system with an empty Ubuntu. The software is installed, everything seems to work like on a real OS.
Any ideas and thoughts are welcome.
PS: for the curious. The task is to set up a Java Enterprise environment for working on projects. At the same time, do not install Linux and MacOS.
