Is it possible to access MySQL from client side Javascript?

I understand JS on the client doesn't have access to MySQL, but is there a similar or similar solution that would allow Javascript to access MySQL (not NodeJS)?

To work with Mysql - you need a server layer.
But if you still really want your own muscle with blackjack and sh... JS on the client, you can look towards AlaSQL .

pps and you smoke ArangoDB .. in runet about it or not like .. or with delight ;))
ppps .. uh .. not .. but it doesn’t look like a corpse at all, it looks like a system that is gaining momentum, and commercial ones, but it gives the community version to everyone ))
