Is it possible in AE to create a global function for expressions?

I use an expression to move objects from right to left at a certain speed. This expression is added to each layer of the object, but it is simply copied, sometimes only the speed parameter is changed. Does AE have some kind of global expression editor where you can create a function and then call it with parameters?
