Is it possible in a Chrom application to access a txt file located in the folder of the application itself?
The application can access the files that the user selects through standard dialog boxes.
There are no questions about this, everything is analyzed in some detail, for example here ( www.pvsm.ru/news/54745)
It is clear that you cannot access the entire file system of the machine.
Maybe somehow you can access the file located in the folder of the application itself, without dialog boxes?
And just when loading the application, read the file at its relative address.
UPD: it is desirable to be able to edit this file as well.
