Is it possible after the user fills out the form to display the entered data instead of it on the same page?

For example, there is a text field that the user needs to fill in. After clicking on the submit, instead of the form, the entered text should be displayed, and by clicking on the "edit" button, the form again. I understand how to implement when switching to another page, but is it possible to do this on the same one?
Tell me, please, is it possible to implement this and, approximately, with what tools?

AJAX, for example, if it is fundamental not to reload the page.
For convenience, there are inline editors. For example, here is vitalets.github.io/x-editable

It is better to send to the real form on pressing the edit button
