Is it okay to skip obscure topics in Mark Lutz's python book?

Hello! Recently started learning python by Mark Lutz. I only read about numeric types, but I don’t understand some topics anymore. Should I try to understand them or can I skip them?

No need.
It is better to dwell on them separately, achieving complete clarity on the issue, until all dark places are illuminated by the bright light of Knowledge.
And then you will build a house where there will be no half of the bricks.

Reading is not enough.
Need to write.

From the description on Amazon:
Complete with quizzes, exercises, and helpful illustrations, this easy-to-follow, self-paced tutorial gets you started with both Python 2.7 and 3.3— the latest releases in the 3.X and 2.X lines— plus all other releases in common use today
Python 2.7 - deprecated as of January 1, 2020
The newest version of Python 3 is 3.9.
Python 3.3 - September 29, 2012.
I would not recommend this book as 5 years already to take for study.
