Is it ok to read a book released 6 years ago on python (Lutz)?

Everyone advises a book from Lutz, but it was released in 11 year.

Why not. The examples and the book in general are based on Python version 3 (3.0), with most of the examples working on version 2.X (in book 2.6).
For the basics, the book is good and quite up to date. If you like Python, then it will not be a problem to supplement the knowledge from the new versions.
