Is it necessary to learn js like languages?
Guys, a question.
I have been working on php for 5 years. I planned to go deeper into the knowledge of the language.
In the vacancies of programmers, I was surprised that many employers write about the necessary knowledge of nodejs, reactjs. ("External js" I know perfectly well.)
Googled, apparently it's just an alternative to php and the server also needs a special one. Syntax of norms, it is possible to learn more shortly. The same eggs in general.
Does it make sense to study js like languages, or is it better to know php for 5+?
Ps I do and plan to do only sites and server api.

I looked specifically at a dozen vacancies for a middle php developer with a salary above $1500/m and did not find vacancies where ReactJS would be required, only sometimes they write that it will be a plus for nodejs, but in the same vacancies they want golang, and RoR and other back languages / frameworks . I don't think you need ReactJS, and you probably don't need node either. Due to a couple of job openings, spending time learning these things is when it's better to learn something from the PHP world.
Better at 5+ to know php. If you understand that you can't live without nodejs, then teach :) And React is generally a front-end, you don't even need to know it.
For general development, of course, you can delve into all this for a week, it will definitely benefit, but it is not necessary to go deep.
It is not necessary to study, but it is desirable.
And PHP 5+ if hired.
If you only work for yourself, then you need to know more
One does not exclude the other :)
In short - the answer is "yes, it is necessary." At least that's what I answered myself.
Also, without a doubt. For writing the server part in JavaScript after PHP is constantly swearing and spitting)))) it's kind of like driving a Lada after a Mercedes)))))
However, although all these callbacks look like complete misery, but suddenly come in handy?))
By the way, React - this is not a server one)) but quite even a client one) they simply assemble it on a node.
I wish you courage and patience!)))
