Suppose a person has a desire to write a book on qt, do I need to ask permission from the authors for this, or can I write and immediately sell?

Qt is a trademark, most likely just like that, without permission it cannot be used for profit. You need to start by reading their licenses, etc., or go straight to lawyers with this question.
You can, first write to the support service, most likely they will even help you.
Qt = a commercial company that has its own product. Most likely registered.
Therefore , you cannot use someone else's software for profit (commerce) without the permission of the owner . However, it was rightly said above: Mention is not use. Courses for any software in the world are sold in packs on the Internet - and nothing. Do you think design schools have any personal permission from Adobe? Of course not. Because they are not needed. Because you are selling your product.
In theory, if you become the second Elon Musk in terms of naeba scale, you can get to the bottom of what you are there (xs even what you need to come up with). But believe me, you didn’t fuck anyone with your book))
There is an official guide that has section 2.8 (@bacon, thanks for the clarification) which expressly forbids the use of the logo on the cover of a book without express written permission
Dashing dude :) Write and immediately sell :) Does anyone need it? First find a publishing house or are you going to promote it yourself?
I would risk contacting support. (From my point of view, if I were the owner of TM - the book is a promotion of the product, what's wrong? Maybe there will be official permission.
