I'm paranoid
this is a serious topic. and awareness of the fact is a good start .. but this is for a good psychotherapist ..
I have MSE installed, signatures updated, it is silent, ... No abnormal activity in the processes was noticed.
everything is exactly the same for me, and this is enough for me to sleep peacefully (and in general everything else is also easy to do / live / worry about)

I'm unlikely to
try without the role of a doctor ..
let's keep it simple:
- do you have something to steal from the virus? (state secret? supertechnologies? billions in bank accounts?) if not, then figs with him ..
- the second scenario is exploitation in a botnet, for example in DDOS, but then either you yourself could notice inadequate activity and traffic, or sooner or something will work later at the provider, and they will hint to you .. no? it became easier again..
.. and what other scenarios of infection? cryptolocker? but you would have seen it right away ..
- but there is also an answer here - make backups to an alternative medium (large flash drive, disconnected disk, cloud) or even better 2-3 copies of backups for all the most important
what else? .. I'm on the move don't remember..
.. why is it all - we don’t see these symptoms - there’s nothing to worry about
.. if we catch ourselves that we’re taking a steam bath anyway .. no offense, but this is not here, but to a psychotherapist

Run some other antivirus, such as DrWeb CureIt. If he does not find it, then, most likely, everything is ok.

ESET SysRescue Live - download and throw on a USB flash drive and check.
In general, with such questions, it’s better to contact the “ Battle of psychics ”, they certainly know what you downloaded there and whether there are viruses on your PC.

"On its own" the virus is unlikely to penetrate.
But you can take additional measures - disable system updates, open and run all email attachments, download files from any left file dumps. Well, and other actions associated with poor brain function.
The main path for viruses now is social engineering. Convince the "client" that he has problems with the tax office and force him to open the exe file in the archive, or that the viber should be downloaded from viber.ru-host.net, or send a letter on behalf of a real work colleague - well, in this vein. ..
If you do not keep state secrets, you are not a Hollywood star, you just have a router at home, it just has fresh firmware and just a regular computer on your home network, then there will never be viruses "on their own" there.
