Is it difficult to create a game with a team of 3-5 people like Fear, Silent Hill, Anabiosis?
Good day to all! I apologize for the confusion if the question is not to your liking.
Today, a friend suggested that I do something interesting in the summer, for example, create a game, at first unpretentious, not for commerce, but to please the eye. The engine has not yet been chosen exactly, either Unreal or CryEngine or Unity3d, but Source was excluded immediately. We have a guy for 3dMax-y, a programmer too. And at the expense of sound, everything sucks. Well, it is. In general, I want to make a game with a good plot, we will do it with pleasure. But before that, nothing like this has been done yet, we do not present the full scope of work. We want to remake the Cry of Fear game only to improve the plot, graphics and other little things. But what is needed for this?
PS: I somehow wrote everything chaotically, and probably could not say everything about what I thought, it’s hard to explain my thoughts ... I’m such a person.

Tell me, can I make one of the best games? I will only buy a book about programming tomorrow.
Tell me, can I make one of the best games? I have twenty years of experience and have been involved in the development of all the top games.
How can the person answering you know what you are capable of? A person who does not understand this cannot create a game, he still needs at least five years of study to reach the level where he can understand that he needs to ask about something else.

You can do level 1. From start to finish. With all models, textures, sounds and more. It is quite possible that it will take you 1-2 months to create a level close to ideal for 15-30 minutes of the game. Well, you can figure out the timing yourself.
