Is it correct to mark the card like this?

The site has a card that consists of a picture, a title and a link to read more. In one of the wordpress templates, I saw that the image is placed in the header tag, the link to read further in the footer tag, and the content in the div. Everyone does this only in the card, despite the fact that the page already has a footer and a header.
How correct is this from the point of view of search engine optimization?
Will this show search engines something that if I just wrap it in a div block it won't?
