Is it convenient to draw site layouts on Retina display?

Hi all.
I bought a mac book pro 13 retina.
I open site layouts, 1260px, physically everything is so small that it is not comfortable to draw.
If we talk about 960px layouts, then even more so.
How are you doing?
I see the following options:
1) someone connects the monitor, the old fashioned way. But then it is not clear why the retina was needed.
2) draw layouts 1280px, but resolution: 144, then everything will be a comfortable size, but very large. And when you give it to the layout - reset the resolution to 72, then everything will need a size.
What other options are there?
Thank you.

Use vector graphics. When slicing, reduce the size (or give two versions of layouts). The latter can be easily automated.

Typesetting as is for retina with even element sizes. For non-retina, do downscale x2 layouts.
