Is it better to install Samba 4 on CentOS 7 from source or yum install?
I decided to try to install AD on Samba 4 on CentOS 7.
It seems obvious - yum install samba
But - no, here they warn that it's better to install from sources, sernet, but not from RedHat/CentOS packages.
Sernet has now become Sernet+ and asks for a subscription (like at least 250EUR/year), which is a bit expensive.
What, does the configure - make - make install option really remain? I don't mind, but perhaps it's better to create an rpm from at least the same sources? I came across make install about 6 years ago, everything seems to be installed normally from packages now. But Samba made me think.

Take the spec and build your rpm file. Then install as usual.
If desired, deploy to other servers.
Stupid question: is the spec file taken "from somewhere" or is it supposed to be created? If "take", then I for samba something will not think where to search.
