Is IRC dead in RuNet?

Drinking coffee and listening to the music of '07, I thought about the lamp jabber, ICQ and my beloved world. But I did not find any working and densely populated IRC channels. IRC is dead? Maybe there is an alternative? Or is everyone used to sitting in contacts and twitters?

Skype group chats are doing great so far.
Twitter has just gone down a bit.
contact, facebook and classmates are a solid niche. stable.
Irtz is needed only by oldfags and in cabals.

I switched to Skype for voice and VK for text and file sharing a long time ago. IRC in my region was initially not very popular, but now, yes, it has died. ICQ... I used to have a successful business reselling icq numbers, but now my contact list of 200+ numbers is always red. So the only option is to look for alternatives :)

In my opinion, Skype, VKontakte, ICQ and others are instant messengers with specific people, on specific topics or just non-specific ones, but rather with some specific audience :)
IRC is almost like a forum)) Channels of interest, with different people, platform for dating and more.
It's like going out into the street, walking along the alley and possibly chatting with the first person you meet, who happens there every day.
So this is not exactly what the above has replaced. First of all, this is a chat, not a messenger.
On the other hand, this is a data transmission system that is not regulated by anyone, so it seems to me that its support was closed due to legal and investment subtleties.
In addition, Telegram, Instagram appeared, and what if there will be more? :)
