Is Instagram written in Python? How so?

I can't understand at all. This application is for android, applications for this platform are written in Java. And what about the python? I heard that at the very least you can write on android in python using special libraries. But in the end, the applications are healthy, and therefore terribly slow. According to rumors, the service is also written in Django. But it's for the web!
But despite all this, he carelessly works with a huge flow of visitors and does not blow his mustache. How so?

Instagram is not only a mobile application. It is also a server application with a website. Here they are written in python.
Here, if you are interested, is an article (albeit already old) describing some of the technologies and architectural solutions used on the server https://www.insight-it.ru/highload/2012/arkhitektu...

Most likely the front-end is written in python. But I think that in addition to the python, you can find others)
I would say that api only works on the python, but I'm afraid they will throw stones, I don't know for sure, so I won't say. The client/back-end applications themselves are written in the platform's native language.
The android application is always in java or js. Another language is simply not supported. For ios it's c++, for win phone it seems to be c++ too, I don't know for sure.
Above all, you need to properly configure the server. Success in balance.
