Is HDMI input a diagnosis or can output be done as well?

There is an Android "monoblock" ViewSonic VSD220, it has a microHDMI port. I read in the manual that this is an input port, there is a special virtual button in the system interface that instructs it to receive a picture from the microHDMI input and turn into a regular monitor. Now the question is - is it possible to use root rights or in any other way to force the system not to receive, but to give its picture via HDMI? Is there a hardware distinction between input and output ports, such as different pinouts?

A monoblock is a monitor + system unit in one case, if the Android graphics core had an HDMI interface, then most likely it would have been output by a separate connector (as happens with some monoblocks), but in your case, the graphics core most likely has only LVDS or HDMI, but a built-in monitor is already sitting on it, so there is no way to implement it programmatically and physically vryatli.
