Is a PC infected with a ransomware virus dangerous?
Good evening! There is a PC with encrypted files ("better_call_saul" format). I restored very necessary files from media, I still can’t do the rest. Actually, the question itself. Can I now use this infected PC? Throw information on him, from him, work on him? No "tails" of the virus will infect other machines?

Personally, I have never been hit by an encoder virus (pah, pah), but from general considerations, this matter should depend on two nuances:
1. What kind of virus, i.e. whether it has the option of self-propagating and infecting other PCs. If not, and all the functionality is limited only by encryption, then it seems that you can use it, but ... nevertheless, it will be more reliable to completely clear the disk (format it, and not quickly, but completely), because - what if this option is there?
2. If you are going to take on the decryption of the encrypted, then you can not touch anything on this computer until it is decrypted. Those. cannot be used.
In my opinion, it would be more correct to use it, having previously reliably cleared the disk, and infa on it ... it's an everyday thing, to come to terms with the loss.
