iPad won't charge. The computer does not see

A terrible thing happened. Suddenly (!) iPad practically stopped charging from the mains (when you turn on the battery on the screen does not show that it is charging, but it gained somewhere around 50 percent of the charge in a day), iTunes does not see it. HardReset did not help, now I got a non-working brick at all, since the iPad requires it to be connected to the computer. Naturally, cables, usb ports were checked, tried with different ones, it's clearly not about them.
Googling, I saw that I was not the first to have a problem, but all the advice comes down to handing over to the service. If anyone has experienced this, please let me know the possible cause and the estimated cost of the repair.

Greetings, there was such a problem on the first ipad. In the SC they said the USB cable died. First, I also checked both usb and connected different charges. During the night I could gain about 30-40% of the charge, but no more. The problem was solved by replacing the cable. In the repair, they asked for 5k at that time, it seemed a bit too much, but since they said that the dead cable, I changed it myself, since the hands are not crooked.

I don’t know how on the iPad, but on the motorola e 398 it was necessary to flash through the boot luder, roughly the operating system without GUI ... and on the iPod, iTunes helped, she immediately said that the iPod was damaged and offered to download and install the firmware from the site, everything was done in iTunes.

I also had a problem and already thought that I had lost my toy, but I found a solution.
Look at the iPad screen with a flashlight to see if it displays anything (try switching modes by pressing the Home + Sleep/Wake buttons). If you see something, then the device is still working (the backlight is just off)
:) soft.
The software is called iRecovery . I downloaded under ubuntu, you may have Windows. An approximate list of commands after connecting: In theory, everything remains to reboot the iPad.
./iRecovery -s
setenv auto-boot true
saveenv
fsboot
exit
