Internet radio player

I want something strange)
1. to teach the router to play Internet radio streams
there is Asus RT-N16 with pretty decent hardware with tomato firmware and entware. I would like to insert a sound card into it, connect speakers and use the web interface to control playback, add / change stations, etc.
At first glance, not only I could have such a desire, but I could not find a working full-fledged solution. searched badly?
From the recipes, there are mostly examples with installing madplay and playing music with it from the console
about the frontend has not been found anywhere.
here is the question - maybe someone did it or is there a simpler solution so as not to write the face itself (although this is not a big problem - it may also come in handy for someone if there is no solution yet)

2. ready-made piece of iron, inexpensive, which could cope with the same capabilities , but with a screen, battery, Wi-Fi and decent speakers (2x2W will be enough with a line-out). it would be ideal if this device was running Android,
I even know such a thing, but firstly you can’t buy it anymore - it’s out of production, secondly, the model is 11 years old - it’s Archos 35 home connect
a little outdated for ideal, only hdmi is missing.
maybe someone knows about more modern gadgets of this kind?
you can just stupid internet radio, but there are fewer opportunities at a much higher price,
although I would have enough to play from a flash drive, listen to radio from the network and conveniently manage channels so as not to be 100% dependent on some kind of service that may close tomorrow

Now some modern receivers can pull the radio. True, there is usually sharpened only for certain sites.
For example, I have a Pioneer VSX-1023-K, which can be Pandora, Internet Radio, and something like that was there. There is an HDMI output for control.
Perhaps there are simpler options for such a plan.

I use Logitech Squeezebox for this - it suits me perfectly!

For the second option:
For such purposes, I took one of the cheapest Chinese 7" tablets running Android.
The speaker there, of course, is unacceptable (piezoelectric tweeter), because it was connected to a Chinese radio via a line output (having a line input). Thus a Radio / TV / Player was formed in the kitchen (music from Google Music, TV from the provider proxied from the home server via DLNA, movies from there via CIFS (or directly from the Internet))
