Instructions on compiling MySQL
It was necessary to recompile MySQL for debugging, but since I just recently got acquainted with Ubuntu, I can't figure out how to compile. I found this article, but I do not understand what to do. I have no idea what a config file is? Where to write it? How to launch it? Can I download sources? Is there any guide for complete newbies like me?

There is a step by step guide for building MySQL on Linux: "Installing MySQL Using a Standard Source Distribution" .
For the debug version of MySQL, instead of the command, use the command from the article "Compiling MySQL for debug" at the 6th step .
Only one question remains: if you couldn’t figure out / google how to compile MySQL on your own, then why do you need to debug the version of this database?
