Installing Extensions/Apps in Goggle Chrome

I had the following problem at work: when installing any application or Chrome extension, an error pops up:
Invalid package. Details: "Default locale is defined but default data couldn't be loaded.".
There is no such problem at home. Browser versions are the same everywhere. How can this be overcome? There is only one recipe on the Google forums: download the CRX extension from the store, rename it to rar or 7zip, unzip it, and install it in developer mode via "Download unpacked extension" But the problem is how to save the CRX extension to your computer from the Google store? Yes, and it seems to me that this method is like a castula.
