Installed wordpress but now how to make the main page?

I installed wp, but there is a need to change the main page from index.php to main.php and I used the htaccess directive DirectoryIndex main.php, everything worked. But there is also a link in the menu to this wordpress blog and when clicked, it returns to main.php again, how to solve this? help

generally index.php is not visible by default, why do unnecessary work!?

Edit menu Appearance > Menu. Or edit the theme code.
