InelliJ IDEA + Git sh.exe: Why is command history not saved?

I am using Git terminal in IntelliJ IDEA.
The following is written in Settings > Tools > Terminal
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Git\bin\sh.exe" --login -i
: Problem:
The command history is saved only until the terminal is restarted.
How to fix?
The file C:\Users\Username\.bash_history is writable.
