The VP does not send notifications by mail. Either you have some plugin installed that does this, but most likely these are all "tricks" of hosting and its scripts. In particular, scripts like Softaculous. If you did not install the VP yourself, but installed it through similar services / scripts, then most likely it sends you notifications.
