In which version of Android it was possible to take away the Internet from applications? And why was it removed? And can it be done?
There was such a feature that it was possible to restrict the application's access to the Internet and then ads disappeared in it. But advertising revenues fell and this feature was removed. So after all everything was? I just missed this period.

Access to the Internet has never required permissions and has not been restricted.
But such a feature was in Cyanogen and possibly migrated to LineageOS.
