Tried a few in Russia in Moscow - a friend says he's lagging. Are there 100% options for a channel from China to be adequate?

No. In the battle of armor and shells, so far the battlefield is behind the Great Wall :) (Although, of course, now superhumans can fill up here for whom everything works everywhere. You do not need to choose a country, but a way to wrap traffic so that the great Chinese firewall does not slow it down.

the traffic outside goes all through the firewall - hence the brakes, i.e. how VPN access works, but figs it will be fast, even in formally its own Hong Kong
