study further java core, and also in parallel it is better to get acquainted with technologies with which you will have to interact earlier. that is, to work with the database, you need jdbc and knowledge of the database itself is needed, without it in any way. IDE - is learned in the process of work (eclipse or idea, but I'm more inclined towards the idea).
here you can already start studying version control (svn is easier to understand than git, although it’s different for anyone, but git, IMHO, is more flexible)
after that, gradually start web, MVC, hiber with spring, you can take and pile on a small application (here the basics will already help you the language itself and the base). for the assembly it is easier to use maven, at the minimum level (whatever it would be to collect, at least). after raise the interaction on the web face.
