If you password-protect a flash drive through Bitlocker, then all files can be restored after formatting the flash drive or not?

I store my personal files on a flash drive: photos, videos, and so on. If you format a flash drive, you can recover almost all deleted files.
And if before that you password-protect the flash drive with Bitlocker, will it be possible to restore them or will Bitlocker encrypt the files and then nothing will be restored even after formatting?

it doesn't need to be encrypted, it needs to be deleted/formatted properly.
