IE on Ubuntu - how to stir up?

Good afternoon!
There are a couple of people who work on Ubuntu. Everything would be fine, but some tender platform really needs IE ...
Making a virtual machine with Win is not a problem, but maybe you can somehow solve this issue without resorting to this option?
I understand that you will need to work with certificates of some kind.
Wine can do it?

What exactly is the option with a virtual machine not suitable for? Will a VPS with Windows Server work?
