Ideas for the most convenient video viewing on TV

In general. I'm downloading a movie. I write it to a flash drive. Flash drive in the telly and enjoy.
I would like to simplify this process somehow. For example (this is just one of the examples that came to mind) the screw is always connected to the TV set via USB. Connected somehow to the power supply. And via Wi-Fi is available on a personal computer. I download a movie from a torrent directly to this hard drive and it is immediately available. And it's in the hat. This is just one of the ideas. In fact, any simplification will do. The main thing is that a person who did not hold a soldering iron in his hands could implement it =)
Another thing that saddens me is the lack of codecs for sound in DTS. Therefore, you have to look for everything in AC3. I tried to play video through the Xbox but something did not work out. He seems to only understand DVD...

Thank you for your attention.

DLNA-if there is, then install the program on windows from here www.homemediaserver.ru/index.htm and that's it. This is your option without a soldering iron.

Buy a simple media player, like WD TV Live , connect a screw to it via USB. You connect the player to your computer via LAN and it (or rather the screw) is visible as a network drive, you can drop movies there or just watch them from the computer's screw, the player will be able to see it. And it also solves your problem with DTS.

You can use DLNA, you can use a simple media player.
Provided that you do not need a normal catalog of films. With "covers", artists, sorted by genre, etc.
But if you still want to look for films not by file structure, but to see the latest added to the catalog, to have series sorted by seasons with episode titles, and the like, then you should think about some implementation of such a catalog.
And yet - external programs for creating such catalogs, such as Zapiti or AMM for Dune, are not very convenient.
Of the recently available solutions, I liked the NAS option with a built-in XBMC player.
The output has an HDMI interface. His - to the receiver, from the receiver - HDMI to the TV.
The only trouble is the not particularly low price of such a NAS.
You can control it either through a separate remote control or from a smartphone application. Well, or through a normal automation system from a universal remote control.
Here is a short overview on the subject

I agree about the media player. As an option, a router with a hard drive
(Asus RT-N66U + HDD via USB) -> Media server -> TV [I have something like this]
Download the movie via the torrent built into the router to the hard drive. And there, via Wi-Fi, distribute / connect access to the necessary devices. Media server via Lan is possible. The scheme is simple, anyone can set it up. + as a nice bonus, we watch videos on home devices like tablets, smartphones.

Download the movie to a network hard drive. Next, we put XBMC on the Raspberry Pi and via HDMI we get all our video without the actual operation of the main computer. It is controlled both from the keyboard and via Android & iOS devices via WiFi (local HTTP) (there are several applications).

There are enough options.
For example, I have a bunch of FreeNAS (network drive and torrent downloader) and XBMC (OpenElec) (media player).
I upload the torrent to a network drive in a special folder and after a few minutes you can watch the downloaded through XBMC, which is connected via HDMI to anything.
Usually I upload a torrent file of the next issue of KVN, then I go to cook dinner, and when dinner is ready, you can already watch.
The FreeNAS function is performed by an HP MicroServer N40L, and XBMC (OpenElec) is installed on a nettop with NVidia ION (hardware acceleration of many codecs). I installed XBMC when there was no Raspberry PI yet, but now it is already possible on it.

Take a look at moServices and the hardware it supports.
As an option - I have iconBIT XDS 800 3D as a media player and watching movies is carried out directly from the sites ex.ua, fs.ua, etc...

Put SamyGO on a TV set. Now I mounted a ball to it from a disk connected to the kinetics, to which the same kinetics downloads torrents, there is also a disk connected to the TV itself, it is visible on the network and I throw it over the network either for storage or if the film is heavy, because on router disc brake.

I used to have DLNA configured, then I connected it via regular HDMI for games, as the server abandoned it.
Of the advantages:
1) Does not require configuration;
2) You can play games, open a browser, watch videos online from any platform;
3) There are no brakes that happened through DLNA;
4) No problem with any video format.
Of the shortcomings:
1) You can not control playback with a TV remote control;
2) The quality of the picture is still a little worse than through DLNA (I blame the video card);
Even at one time I looked at the switch for usb devices, the main idea is to switch the screw to the PC and load the movie, switch to the TV and watch the movie. The idea died due to the fact that it required additional investments.
