IB without higher education?
Hello. I will immediately describe the situation - I am 20 years old, I have a diploma of secondary vocational education, not related to IT. Just as a hobby, I studied Python for a year, played a little with Django, Java, C # ... As a result, I became interested in this topic and decided to build a career in IT, but website development , etc., did not fascinate me as much as, for example, the field of Information security. Yes, yes, most of you think that I'm a "mommy coolhacker", and so on, but no, I'm not eager to hack anything , etc., I rather want to work on the other side , the so-called WhiteHat . But it seems to me that the lack of higher education in this specialty can destroy all my plans. Is it so?

Yes, without a GOOD tower in this regard it will not be easy. It is possible, of course, but smashing brick walls with your head is quite painful. How and when will the realization come that information security has little relation to programming
For a long time I did not have to see posts on the topic "IT / IB without a tower."
In general, it always seemed to me that this topic died in the early 10s. Yes, in the 90s it was possible to take the line of the leader without a tower and even be the head of the department (I was here :)), in the 2000s, it didn’t hurt either to look at the presence of education (although they were already looking closely). In the 10s, the topic quietly faded away, because gradually everyone realized that without a tower you can find a web macaque, but not a normal specialist.
No need to tell me what they teach there - they swam, we know. Of course, physics and mathematics are blown out of your head instantly (unless you need it for work), but the main thing remains - the ability to learn, that is, to process quickly and a lot of information and find something useful.
Information security, IT and any engineering specialty - not that it is impossible without a tower at all, but in practice the choice is narrowed down to offices of the level of "three tables, two chairs" and freelancing.
This is especially true for information security - only a fairly large office can afford to keep a separate information security specialist, in which there are always formalized requirements, among which there is always a tower :)
A tower is needed, because "without a piece of paper you are a poop, but with a piece of paper you are a man," even if your tower is not of the right profile.
Knowledge comes more with practice and enthusiasm than learning. If you get into a normal department with a good leader, and even with a normal, expanding material base, you will become a professional in a couple of years, but without a tower you simply will not be hired.
