I want to work as a programmer in gamedev?
Does anyone have such experience, or does someone work, how realistic is it, what technologies are needed, how can a beginner get there? (gamedev programmer) I would like to work on large projects, but I would be ready to start small.

The first necessary skill is the ability to use the search.
gamedev is no different from any other development - everything is the same - it is necessary that a person knows how to work, be independent enough not to be led by the hand. Otherwise, it will be difficult to break through competitors.
The plan is:
* Look for vacancies in gamedev
* See the requirements, choose which direction you are interested in - android / web / C ++ / QA
* Learn what they indicate in vacancies
* how to learn - write resumes and bombard these vacancies.
5-10 (or if everything is bad 50-100) interviews and profit.
PS And one more thing, game dev is much smaller than development in general, so it's quite possible to start not with game dev, but with any development.
what is your experience? what kind of knowledge? what did you try to do?
And what exactly is in gamedev? design/programming/scripting/simulation?
and why gamedev in general?
gamedev is one of those industries where expectations vs reality are very different.
only indies have real freedom, but not everyone can afford to play the game for a couple of years without earning anything and without the hope that something will work at all.
