I want to convert a laser cnc to a milling cutter?

Six months ago I bought a laser CNC "machine" EleksMaker 3040 (for a hobby), but eventually monetized it. Now I don’t have enough power, I want to convert it into a 3 in 1 machine: a laser for engraving, a router for cutting plywood and a hot string for cutting foam.
Belt transmission on both sides, steppers remain the same, I'll add +1. Frame made of aluminum profile 20 * 20 and 20 * 40 (from the collection plant). I will process plywood from 3-20 mm, polystyrene 20-50 mm. Working field size 900*600 mm (or 1200*900).
Here is a 3D render made in a blender in a hurry, according to it, I think the meaning of the design will be clear.

How would you rate this design? Is it worth continuing?

I think it's always worth it! Regardless of the design and idea.
Just go further, develop the idea and, subsequently, improve it :)
I also recently switched to CNC development. Fascinating, I used to be engaged in the manufacture of manual machines. And as I felt the possibilities of Adruino, my inspiration flooded from everywhere))
