I often get lost on such sites. I can’t catch what and in what direction it’s going, I don’t understand why there are so many animations, I can hardly perceive content, I try to catch everything that runs and jumps somewhere, even sometimes I get scared if some thing suddenly jumps out especially sharply.

Maybe it's inertia and a habit, or maybe it's too lazy to understand the amazing animated menus of fancy interfaces, which are usually still annoying because they load for several seconds and slow down on machines weaker than the one that the creator had and eat battery power. Parallax is a very cool effect, although it is not always possible to use it. You can't use it if "there is no concept of perspective", example: solid background, flat illustration and text...
