I'm stormy from the parallax effect. Am I crazy?

I wanted to take an interest in the feelings of habrausers when viewing sites that use the currently popular scrolling effect with the parallax effect, when elements on the page move at different speeds when scrolling. ( example )

I often get lost on such sites. I can’t catch what and in what direction it’s going, I don’t understand why there are so many animations, I can hardly perceive content, I try to catch everything that runs and jumps somewhere, even sometimes I get scared if some thing suddenly jumps out especially sharply.

Do you have such feelings?

See how to make it. If you don’t get into the scrolling of the main content (that is, when the effect is applied only to an unobtrusive background - an example ), it’s quite watchable. If this is some kind of horror , it makes me have an irresistible desire to close the page and never return there.
Obsession is not good. Parallax, if any, should be invisible.

Lost - yes, the rest - no.
Still, minimalism is closer to me.

On such sites, you don’t need to perceive content, they are created in order to come in and say “Wow!”. Take them that way.)

In general, I don’t like using “designer” sites with bells and whistles, from which my head is spinning, and I love the classics in 2-3 columns without parallaxes and sticky headers, on a white background. Maybe it's inertia and a habit, or maybe it's too lazy to understand the amazing animated menus of fancy interfaces, which are usually still annoying because they load for several seconds and slow down on machines weaker than the one that the creator had and eat battery power. Although yes, it can look nice and “modern”, and it is quite acceptable for promo sites, to which, after receiving aesthetic satisfaction, no one should return.

Green from the Christmas tree, when this Earth is spinning, I also endure. A similar feeling when you yourself rotate for a long time in place or roll around on a children's carousel ... brrrr ... Apparently, some specificity of the vestibular apparatus.

I’m just tired of such sites ... For the first time, it’s interesting, unusual ... But when this effect is on every corner, it’s already too much

For promo, it would be good if this reception was not so overused. And so useless beauty.
By the way, the example on my tablet slows down godlessly, it's impossible to use.

Parallax is a very cool effect, although it is not always possible to use it. You can't use it if "there is no concept of perspective", example: solid background, flat illustration and text...

I like this effect, now I am learning to use it, when I master it, I will use it on promotional pages, business card sites, etc. In simple, small projects where there is no large load of text and meaning.
