I'm looking for a thin laptop 11" 8GB RAM
The anniversary is approaching, and I want to buy a laptop for myself. I am looking for a thin, light and preferably with 8GB of RAM, the performance of modern processors is enough for my requirements, the drive, fortunately, can be upgraded in almost all laptops.
Of all the 11.6" options, only the new macbook air 11 is suitable. The Mac axis pleases, although I'm used to Linux. The closest suitable one was asus ux21, but it has a 4Gb ceiling that is not expandable. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place? Like Samsung announced 11 inch in the 900x series, but there again 4 Gb is soldered and this is the ceiling.I also
considered Thinkpad X1, x230 - the diagonal and thickness are too big.PS
why 8GB - I don’t plan upgrades for the next 2-3 years.(current mba 2011 i5, 2gb, 256ssd for business trips and remote enough work from home until you run parallels desktop).
Update: the thought is gnawing that it's worth waiting for a 13" retina.
Solution: As I originally expected, I settled on a new air with 8 GB. Thank you all.

The thought is absolutely correct. At the very 13 "Macbook 2009, I will take Retina 13" when it comes out - 15 "is a bit too much. Another thing is that in MacOS this resolution is supported more or less, but on other OSes, as well as on platforms like Java, there is a suspicion that everything will be very bad.
