HTC Legend vs Motorola Milestone?
Hello habr.
Sorry for not bothering you very much on the topic, but I don’t even know who else to rely on. And the problem I have is this: the need to buy a new phone has become very acute. Having suffered with all possible platforms, I settled on Androyd. But, due to the limited budget (up to 15k for a gray phone), very few models came into view, namely subject ones. Tell me, please, what would you choose in my place (or maybe you would offer your own option?). And, I beg you, justifiably. Androyd is still a dark forest for me and it is very important that the firmware is updated on the phone, because I don’t really like to endure the same bug for years. Well, a bunch of all that, which is not written in the reviews, also interests me.
Of the hardware differences, I found only that the HTC has more RAM, and the Motorola has a larger screen.
Thank you - please excuse me!

If the phone only needs to make calls, then you can choose not only from smart phones / communicators.
Motorola Milestone is a very cool phone IMHO, but personally I took HTC because Motorola decided to leave not only Russia ...
despite the positive experience of using Motorola pipes, which did not require (and still do not require) maintenance, all the same I did not dare to buy, although again, IMHO Milestone is more interesting than HTC.
If you can find a Nexus One for your budget, I would take it.
And it is very important that the firmware (whynot) be updated on the phone
- this is the only one suitable for this parameter.
Personally, I do not see a huge difference between desire and the legend of the Legend (MrNull)
- Andry Birds slows down on it at some levels. I saw it with my own eyes :)
I took Milestone - I'm happy with everything. The hardware keyboard is a big plus, as is the large screen and Gorilla Glass on it.
Motorola's pluses include the possibility of successful overclocking of the processor.
Those. desire will be far behind in updates? whynot,
- of course, there are already a thousand examples in practice (the story about HTC Hero is generally sore). For on the Nexus there is a “bare” Android, as soon as Google makes a new version, it goes to it. I will say more, the Nexus is just testing a new wasp. All other manufacturers build their own shell into the operating system. HTC Sense, Motorola has MOTOBLUR, Samsung Touch Wiz, and so on.
It follows from this:
1) It takes time to build the shell into the OS (the reason for the delay)
2) It is necessary to spend resources (read money for the work of programmers) to build the shell. And why is it necessary if you _already bought_ the device?
I personally doubt that we will let the same Desire upgrade to 2.3, because there is already the next generation of Desire HD and Desire Z.
