Htaccess redirect after deleting multilingual?

Hello. A simple task, I removed the multilanguage on 1 site, now I can’t write the correct redirects.
There were urls like: www.site.com/en/home , www.site.com/pl/home , you need to redirect to www.site.com/home
Site to WordPress. Tried like this:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} /pl/
RewriteRule pl/ / [L]

But something doesn't work. Thank you.
