wxWidgets has been free all along.
At one time, that's why I preferred them to Qt, who got confused with licenses.
Since then, Qt has evolved much more vigorously, but wxWidgets still allows you to write a common cross-platform interface and build a lightweight program on it.

In general, you can make it so that you first write under open source, when the product is ready, you can change your shoes and request a paid version for distribution, you just need to say that you didn’t seem to know that you can’t mix a commercial license and a free one (if qt is fundamentally needed), but you still have to pay for distribution, once you buy it like with a builder, such a topic was at least before.
