How to write changes from the site to the database?

There is a site that supports EventStreams ( https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Event_Platform... ). I need to make sure that all changes that come from there are written to the database. I do not quite understand how best to build the architecture so that it works continuously and, pardon the expression, forever.

The first thought is to write a python script that will do exactly this. But the question is: what if it stops? Maybe there are more elegant solutions.
